Lappetfaced Vulture (Torgos tracheliotus)
The Lappetfaced Vulture is a very large
bird very seldom seen outside game reserves. Uncommon except in
Namibia and Zimbabwe. Habitat varies from savanna to desert. Not
a gregarious bird, prefering to remain solitary or in pairs.
Diet is carrion. It can eat tougher material than other vultures.
Sometimes kills small mammals and barbel (catfish).
