Zebra are mainly grazers but have been seen browsing
leaves and shrubs. Zebra will also use their hooves to dig for rhizomes during
the dry season.
They are very dependent of water and never move far from water holes or streams.
Zebra are very noisy. The call of a Zebra is Qwa-ha-ha, qwa-ha-ha repeated. Stallions fight very fiercely. They bite and kick opponents when gathering a herd of mares together.
Zebra can run very fast for a long time. Lion are one of the only predators of adult Zebra. Leopard and Hyaena will kill young animals.
