Striped Kingfisher (Halcyon chelicuti)
The Striped Kingfisher has a brown
iris and its bill is dark brown above and red below. Found in most
parts of Africa South of the Sahara and in the northern parts of
South Africa.
The Striped Kingfisher feeds on insects
and lizards.
Nests in a hole in a tree and breeds
from September to February.
