
The Mole snake is a constrictor and hunts for moles and rodents underground.
The Mole snake likes sandy grassveld regions and with its small head it is well adapted to burrowing through sand to find is prey.
The Mole Snake feeds on small terrestrial mammals as well as birds and birds eggs.
Found over most of South Africa. The Mole Snake is often mistaken for a Cape cobra and killed. It is very aggressive when cornered, hissing and striking with its mouth open.
Very fond of basking in the sun, the Mole snake is sometimes seen on top of rocks or on roads where it is warm.
