The
Leopard is normally a solitary animal except during mating season.
Leopards are powerfully built big cat. Leopard hide in thick bush
or up a tree during the day and hunt at night. They prey on a large
variety of animals and birds from Francolin to Guinea
fowl and Tortoises to Impala,
Waterbuck and Wildebeest.
Baboons and monkeys are also particularly
favoured by leopard. Prey is killed by breaking the neck and then
the carcass is carried up a tree to keep it out of reach of scavengers
such as Hyaena and Jackal.
