The Grasshoppers in the top picture are mating. The top and smaller grasshopper is the male. They have a longitudinal furrow on the forehead (bottom picture).
To protect itself this grasshopper makes a foul smelling foam when disturbed.
The bright colours warn predators that it is poisonous.
