| The Cheetah
is known as the fastest running predator in the African bush, reaching
speeds of up to 75 miles per hour for short bursts. The Cheetah is
about 30 inches tall at its shoulder. Similar to the Leopard, the
Cheetah is slender with very long legs. They live in small groups
and sometimes live singly. Cheetah hunt during the day by running
down their prey. When hunting in groups the Cheetah bring down animals
as large as Wildebeest
. Cheetah mainly prey on smaller animals such as Impala
and Warthog. Habitat changes have seen the
Cheetah almost exterminated in most parts of Africa. |
