Lizard Buzzard (Kaupifalco monogrammicus)
Smallish bird found in most
of Africa, south of the Sahara. In South Africa confined to the
North.
Usually solitary. Perches on high branches
looking for prey. Feeds mostly on insects, small mammals, birds,
lizards and snakes.
Nests in the fork of a tree. The compact
nest is made of twigs, lined with softer materials such as grass
and leaves.
