The Lavender tree is a semi deciduous
to evergreen tree. It grows up to 15 metres in height.
The Lavender tree flowers from December to March and fruits from
March to May.
Kudu,
black rhino and Duiker browse the leaves. Many insect eating birds
are attracted to the lavender tree when it is in flower. The flowers
attract the insects.
The leaves when powdered make an intestinal
worm remedy for domestic cattle. A steaming decoction of the roots
is inhaled to treat bleeding noses and gums.
